Aries rules a volcanic frontier where cities are built into red cliffs and every citizen learns to read the language of smoke. He earned command young, not through inheritance, but by holding Ash Canyon when the northern beasts crossed the pass. His soldiers trust him because he never asks them to stand where he will not stand first.
Power and weakness
The Fire Commander can turn conviction into physical flame. When his purpose is clear, his spear burns hot enough to split enchanted steel. Doubt makes the fire unstable, while anger gives it enormous power at the cost of judgment. The Thirteenth Gate exploits this flaw by making every hesitation feel like cowardice.
Place in the Zodiac War
Aries begins the story as Leo's oldest ally and first accuser. Their conflict is not a simple rivalry: both believe leadership means protecting others, but Leo protects through patience while Aries protects through action. His central question is whether he can admit uncertainty without believing he has failed the people who follow him.
