Libra opened Leo's trial by placing the royal sun on one side of her scales and Scorpio's forbidden record on the other.

The record proved that every modern kingdom benefited from Ophiuchus's stolen power. The crown was not merely missing property; it was evidence of an ancient crime. Around the chamber, rulers who had demanded Leo's confession now avoided one another's eyes.

Leo admitted hiding the crown's warning and accepted judgment for that choice. He would not accept blame for the theft. Virgo presented the corrupted armor, Gemini presented both futures, and Pisces placed the drop of black dream-water beneath the scales.

The balance refused to settle. Then the false Leo entered wearing the missing crown. He offered perfect peace if the council condemned the real king before sunset. Half the rulers saw a savior. The other half saw the serpent beneath his face.

Libra shattered her own scales rather than let their magic make the choice. ‘Justice is not a machine that excuses us from judgment,’ she said. The broken gold formed a circle around both Leos and stripped away every borrowed reflection.

The copy dissolved, but the crown remained suspended above an empty shadow. For the first time, the council saw that the forgotten king did not need a body. He needed only a verdict spoken in fear.
